Our fantastic new website is now up and running and ready for you to browse at your leisure. We are really excited to hear what you think about all the new features. There have been months and months of hard slog, tears and turbulence along the way, but we think it’s been worth it as the Autoworld website is looking better than ever. Here we will bring you up to date news on exciting new car launches, car reviews and the best deals available.


The look and feel of the website is important but there have been a few other things on our priority list as well;


We think it is important for everybody to be able to benefit from the wonders of the World Wide Web but even the more technical amongst us understand that the web can be a frustrating place. We are delighted to tell you that our brand new website is WC3 compliant. This new standard means we have addressed barriers to accessing the web experienced by people with visual, auditory, physical, cognitive and neurological disabilities and by other users with accessibility needs. We now have a dedicated members’ area which has a bundle of features and benefits of its own. Don’t worry if you’ve never bought a car from Autoworld, as the members’ area is for anyone who wants to enter competitions, be the first to know about special offers, promotions and new model launches. You can now get up to date information on all of these things and much more by subscribing to our e –newsletter. We want to make the whole experience of buying a car and getting it on the road as smooth and as hassle free as possible. That’s why we have devised an excellent new feature for our used car section on the website. When you have selected your dream used car you can also get a finance and insurance quote on line. This will make the budgeting process much easier and enable you to pick a car based upon your allocated budget for tax and insurance.


In addition to the main Autoworld Group website there are also two mini-sites; one for our prestigious  Alfa Romeo brand and another for Vanworld, our commercial vehicles centre. This allows us to expand further and offer more relevant content for users who are interested in more specific content.

We know you are busy people and that sometimes it’s difficult to find the time to book in your car for that essential service. Now you will be able to do it online and very soon we will have a facility that will alert you when you car is due for service. Watch this space for further developments.

Our research has shown us that customers have occasionally had an isolated question about their car’s performance but haven’t been sure whether this warrants booking it in for further investigation. The ‘Ask a technician’ facility on the Autoworld website means that you can put your mind at rest and save yourself unnecessary hassle or expense.

After meetings and pitches from several companies we decided to use and work with Proximity Solutions (www.proximity-solutions.co.uk). Their Content Management System is very impressive and offered unlimited scope for the custom areas our new website required. Autoworld’s in-house design department worked with Proximity Solutions to arrive at the perfect look and feel for the site.

Habia Cable Group

Habia Cables are a truly international company and are innovators in the design and manufacture of high performance wire and cable for demanding applications. They have over 350 employees stretching over 18 countries, four large production plants and over 70 years experience in the industry - so you can only image what their wish-list of requirements were when they began to look into a Contact Management System to host their new web presence.

They began discussions with Proximity Solutions, originators of Proximity WebLab-CMS, about two years ago as they were already dealing with the company in a different capacity, and soon decided that this system ticked all the right boxes. Modifications and set-up took place from July 2007 and on their launch day of October 1st the site took over 10,000 hits.

Yates continues, “When I first saw the WebLab demo I was immediately thinking how this could fit onto our existing web platform but bring our web presence up to date – it is now over 1000 pages and in five languages, including those using different character sets such as Korean, simplified Chinese and we’re currently doing it in Russian. It makes how we work so much more efficient; it’s more visible, and easy to work in across split offices and in different time zones. On top of all this, the price was much more competitive than other CMS Systems on the market and anything that can save time – saves you money too!”

TileTown

Tile Town’s new CMS website helps raise sales above the cut-throat competition.

Tile Town are the East Midlands’ premier tile suppliers to both home and commercial projects, which is no mean feat when competition on their doorstep alone is both numerous and fierce.  Established in 1990 they quickly outgrew their first premises and now have three in total and serve across areas like Derbyshire, Chesterfield, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
 

Lee Simpkin, Store Manager for Tile Town decided to upgrade their current website in line with the company’s success and looked for a system that would provide a streamlined approach yet would still drive enquiries and sales forward.  Returning to Proximity Solutions, the company that designed the original website, he found that their new web-based content management product, WebLab-CMS had been developed and suited Tile Town to the ground.


Lee explains “When Proximity introduced the WebLab system I knew that to get all the new items and details uploaded it would take a few weeks, but the fact that it was so straightforward to use and I could input most of it myself impressed me.   It was good to have that level of control because who else knows your business like you do and can tailor it as such?”

“From the beginning the Proximity guys also worked hand in hand with the company that we appointed to deal with on our search-engine optimization and in tandem they have been able to get us on the number rating across all the levels we requested – and so far we’re staying their too!”


Tile Town have built their success on providing excellent service, competitive pricing and market knowledge but they understand completely how important it is to stay one step ahead of the competition, and sometimes this means finding out what medium of marketing works best and investing in its success.  To ascertain the effectiveness of the website, Tile Town produced a discount Voucher system where web viewers printed a voucher off and took it with them to the store, in order to get the discount. This method has been beyond successful which is why Lee and his team knew that their return on investment for WebLab-CMS was truly measurable.
 
Tile Town is not a company that is likely to rest on its laurels and although, for now, they’re ahead of their game Lee is already thinking ahead to increases their online services at some point.  He says, “The beauty of WebLab-CMS is that you can add-on products, such as an e-commerce section, as your company grows.”
